Tiny Sony Ericsson Jalou Review

The Sony Ericsson Jalou looks like a toy than a mobile phone. The device comes in a pretty design but because of its features the handset is mediocre.

The Sony Ericsson Jalou is a cell phone that has an unusual and compact compact design.

The size of the Sony Ericsson Jalou compiles 73 mm x 45 mm x 18.2 mm. The device weighs 84 g. It is a small, rather compact and handy handset.

The Sony Ericsson Jalou features a hidden external display, the size of which is 1.3 inches. The outer screen resolution is 128 x 36. The display seems to be transparent as you can see a reflection of letters and captions under the display.

In order to get to the internal display, you need to open the handset. It is not very easy using one hand as the flip mechanism is not so smooth enough. The inner display has a size of 2 inches. The inner screen resolution is 240 x 320 pixels. The screen features an accelerometer sensor for automatic rotate of the screen modes.

The alphanumeric keypad is comfortable, though it is a bit small. The microSD memory card slot is situated under the battery which is not very handy.

The Sony Ericsson Jalou has a 3.2-megapixel camera with the resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. The features of the camera are the following: geo-tagging, different shooting modes, and videocalling. Unfortunately, the camera lacks autofocus. The quality of photos is average. Video recording is also available at QVGA (320×240 pixels) resolution and 15 frames per second.

There are music and video players in the device. The music player supports MP3 format. And the video player plays MP4, WMV, and H.263 formats. The SE Jalou features a stereo FM radio with RDS technology.

The Sony Ericsson Jalou operates on 2G network with GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and 3G network with HSDPA 2100.

The messaging services of the Sony Ericsson Jalou are the the following: SMS MMS, IM, e-mail, and Push e-mail. The web browsers for the Jalou are WAP 2.0 and HTML.

The standard Li-Ion battery of the Sony Ericsson Jalou offers up to 4 hours 30 minutes for 3G talk and up to 7 hours for 2G talk. If to speak about its stand-by mode, the battery life of the device provides up to 350 hours for 2G and up to 250 hours for 3G.

The memory of the SE Jalou compiles 100 MB. There is also an opportunity to enhance the memory of the Jalou with the help of the microSD memory card.
